Pictures

Hello!

I see that pictures in older posts have been removed.
I am sorry for this, it's not my doing.
This makes the posts look dull and boring, but there is nothing I can do about it.

Foo Fighters - Sonic Highways

Hello!
Now, I'm a huge Foo Fighters fan, so of course I've heard the new album Sonic Highways.

Just to make a little summary: Foo Fighters is an amazing band, with Dave Grohl at the center on guitars and vocals. Dave Grohl was originally the drummer of the band Nirvana, and after Kurt Cobains death, he made the first Foo Fighters record on his own, never knowing how big it actually would become.

This is just to sum up a little bit, I'm guessing that everyone who reads this blog knows a thing or two about music. If not, welcome to our world :-)

I want to write more about the history of both the band, and myself listening to their music. But lets get down to business!

The Foo Fighters new album Sonic Highways starts of in classic FF style, with clean guitars merging over to hard rock, playing us into 42 minutes and 52 seconds of awesome compositions. The title song "Something for Nothing" is awesome. The riff that comes after 1:30 is a classic rock riff heard in many songs before. I wasn't sure how to feel when I heard it the first time, but after I've played through the album a few times I love it. The song is one massive build-up which gives you a great feeling before you continue through the rest of the album!

(I have no rights to these pictures, they are found on google search engine to illustrate).

I could probably continue like this for a good while, that would be a lot of text, a wall of text to be exact. I will not do that, unless people want me to write about every song on an album. But this particular album, you will just have to sample for yourself. Have a good time listening to it.

Until next time!

New good old Ace Frehley!

Hello readers!

Anyone heard the new Ace Frehley album?

I browsed through it a few weeks ago, and let me tell you, this is awesome.
This is classic Ace Frehley songs. The riffs, solos and everything about the composition.
Anyone who knows good old rock and roll, knows about Ace.
In my opinion, he is one of the few who still writes music with the classic good old rock and roll recipe. You can hear it so clearly in his riffs, this is a 70's glam rock flash back!

Don't get me wrong on my next statement. First of all, I'm a huge KISS-fan, still. After all these years it is still my favourite band.
Now to the statement. If you listen to the new KISS albums that came out these past few years; Monster and Sonic Boom, you can hear that their songs have become more of a mass production, than a mix of soul and heart. This is not smacktalk on KISS, they are great, and their new songs are good to OK. You know how Gene describes KISS, its a franchise, moneymaker. Its not about the music anymore.

Now, enough of that. My conclusion is that Ace is still going strong whith his new album Space Invader. He is not the best guitarist in the world, nor the best vocalist. But his music is true. There is both heart and soul in what he writes, he takes his time writing his songs.

I recomend everyone to take a crack at his songs with your speakers set to loud!
Have a good listen.
Until next time!
