Today I'm off school and work and everything. Got nothing important to do. So, today I thought I would be working more on that song I'm writing on Logic express. AH! I haven't told you about my equipment yet! I will do that now.
So, I'm not rich, I'm actually quite poor, he-he! But I have a few instruments and a few other gadgets so I can record.
Instruments first:
One old acoustic guitar which was my first guitar.
One Morgan electric guitar in sunburst which was my first electric guitar.
One Epiphone Les Paul Black Beauty, which is my favorite of the guitars, used all my savings on that one:)
One Fender Stratocaster 60's reissue, love that guitar, its straight up sexy.
One Morgan WD 5 which is the latest, I bought it 1 month ago. Really good guitar, very nice sound and its a great to play on. That's my opinion, everyone to their own taste I guess:)
And I have one shitty Yamaha keyboard which I use rarely. Want to save up for a real piano, now that's a dream!
Okay, that's the instruments. I have a lot to buy that's on my list. To name a few, a bass, a midi-keyboard, a banjo which is the instruments I see myself acquiring in the near future. Total need. OK! Off to the software. Its not much but it works.
I have an iMac with software that I bought at the same time I bought the iMac so it came installed and ready to go once I switched on the computer. Software:
Logic express 8. This is really amazing, but its difficult and hard to use. It takes a great amount of time to learn to use Logic, I haven't learned half of it even.
Garage Band. This is an easy program, plug and play kinda thing. You get right to the point here. Its fun but not what you primarily use to record.
POD Farm. Now this is a fun software! This program followed with my Line 6 UX1 sound-card for my instruments. I can use a whole day in the POD Farm. There are several different guitar speakers, guitar effects, bass speakers, bass effects. You have a panel which is easy to use, you get all the "buttons" from the real speaker or effect pedal over the frame that shows what you are using of equipment. Here you can turn on nobs, switch buttons from clean to gain, treble, bass, and so on. Extremely fun program to use. You need a good headset though to hear the sound right.
This is 4 of my guitars hanging on the wall in my old room back home with my mother. |
